Artista multimedia, cantora, compositora e ativista política, Yoko Ono é uma das artistas mais influentes e controversas da atualidade. Pioneira da arte conceitual, Yoko Ono é considerada uma das principais figuras do movimento Fluxus, liderado por George Maciunas.
Coincidindo com a apresentação de YOKO ONO: O JARDIM DE APRENDIZAGEM DA LIBERDADE, em Serralves, apresentaremos um programa de peças de referência da obra da artista, considerando a sua influência atual do ponto de vista estético e conceitual.
Este programa, inspirado nos acontecimentos dos anos 60 e 70, com especial destaque para as peças CUT PIECE, VOICE PIECE FOR SOPRANO, SKY PIECE TO JESUS CHRIST e BAG PIECE, ocorrerá no contexto do Museu, Auditório e Parque de Serralves e será revitalizado por artistas da cidade.
As instruções de Yoko Ono descrevem ações baseadas numa ideia ou imagem, propostas para serem livremente interpretadas - física ou mentalmente - por performers e públicos, destacando o seu carácter participativo e efémero.
Multimedia artist, singer, composer and political activist, Yoko Ono is one of the most influential and controversial artists of our time. A pioneer of conceptual art, Yoko Ono is considered one of the leading figures of the Fluxus movement, led by George Maciunas.
Coinciding with the presentation of YOKO ONO: THE LEARNING GARDEN OF FREEDOM, in Serralves, we will present a program of reference pieces from the artist's work, considering her current influence from an aesthetic and conceptual point of view.
This program, inspired by the events of the 60s and 70s, with special emphasis on the instructions CUT PIECE, VOICE PIECE FOR SOPRANO, SKY PIECE TO JESUS CHRIST and BAG PIECE, will take place in the context of the Serralves Museum, Auditorium and Park and will be revived by artists from the city.
Yoko Ono's instructions describe actions based on an idea or an image, proposed to be freely interpreted - physically or mentally - by performers and audiences, highlighting their participatory and ephemeral nature.
